ENEMY Featurette: Behind The Scenes

A look behind the scenes of ENEMY

(hey, IGN?…it’s ENEMY, not The Double)

and Stuckmann’s enthusiastic video review for the film

Review Summary [source]: Truly unique experiences in cinema are rare today, and thankfully, Denis Villeneuve’s Enemy provides one. Sure, this film can be compared to others, but honestly, so can every film out there. Most films are just recreations of stories we’ve seen already. What makes a movie special is the way in which the story is told. From the opening shot of Enemy, you are trained to expect something out of the ordinary. Jake Gyllenhaal is magnetic, his performance seethes on the screen. As the movie progressed, and the tension built, it became increasingly obvious that this was “a thinker”, a film that movie nerds will be discussing on the internet for years. It’s a beautifully shot, well-acted thriller that’s well worth seeing. It also contains one of the scariest endings I’ve ever seen.

Grade: A

I’m thrilled beyond words

    • It’s good to know I won’t die alone LOL So much praise for him, I hope he’s reading too. How does it work anyway? does he get, like, a daily press summary from his agency? does he look online himself? #EnquiringMindsNeedToKnow

  1. Hi!
No, you’re not the only one 😉 I’m in The Netherlands and I can’t wait for ‘Enemy’ as well. It looks sexy as hell!

My first post here, but I’ve been lurking here and on other Jake blogs for some time now. And all that because of ‘Brokeback Mountain’… love Jake as Jack, always will. I love how your blog layout pays tribute to BBM. Never enough Brokeback, never enough… 😉

Have you noticed Jake’s own website has finally been updated? About time too! Maybe because of Jake googling himself in ‘Enemy’? 🙂

Will be reading here! Keep up the good work!

    • Blue Jean, welcome to GC, how lovely to see you here!

Brokeback has truly changed my life and will forever be in my heart, as will Jack and Ennis, so yeah, that shot of Jack is there to remind me how important is the film to me, if I ever needed a reminder.

I saw Jake’s ‘official’ website has been finally updated, not sure who’s really behind it but let’s see what else they’ll do with it.

Nice to see another ‘Brokie’ here, and thanks for the compliments, much appreciated!

    • Thanks for the link Blue Jean, that was interesting and you’re right, the guy on the bike is not Jake, at least not in all shots. I have the feeling that he might have taken up the opportunity to ride a bike in a film, since he owned or still owns one.
