Two more weeks!

Good news! Roundabout theater has announced a two week extension of  the play ‘If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet’. I honestly can’t think of a better Christmas gift.

We are very excited to announce a two week extension of the American Premiere of Nick Payne’s If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, directed by Michael Longhurst! The limited run, which was originally scheduled to run through November 25 only, will take a 12 day break before resuming performances on December 8, and play two additional weeks through December 23.

Enid Graham (The Constant Wife) will assume the role of “Fiona” beginning Tuesday, October 23.

I was surprised to read that Enid Graham will take over the role of Fiona from Michelle Gomez, I wonder if this replacement was already scheduled.

End of Watch had its premiere at the London Film Festival yesterday (next two screenings will be on Oct 13 and Oct 21). Michael Pena was there along with producer John Lesher to introduce the film as an Official Competition entry.

Listen to him talking about the film at the Q&A (he raves about Jake, even says Jake is a genius and can do anything, ha!)

Reviews so far are very good!

The Times There is more genuine chemistry between Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, playing a pair of profanity spewing, ass-kicking LAPD officers in David Ayer’s End of Watch, than you’ll find in all of this year’s romcoms combined. Rarely do two performances complement each other so perfectly.

Independent What really makes this film so impressive is its commitment to characterisation in a genre that does not usually care for it.
The scenes of seemingly innocuous banter top everything else for sheer likeability. In one, a seamless combination of clever scripting and relaxed delivery, the two men, one white, one hispanic, exchange affectionate cultural jibes, and in doing so dismantle between them all the ethnic barriers that the gangland ghettos surrounding them have built up. It’s a masterful moment. This is the thinking man’s action movie, a cop flick that takes us off the beaten track. Above all, though, it is a bromance. And a very funny one at that.

What Culture Superbly-acted pieces-to-camera tell us much about Taylor and Zavala, but perhaps most crucially reinforce their bond. In fact, the film’s best moments more often than not are those in which the pair is simply cruising around and chatting, rather than the urgent gunfights.

In recent news, Jake’s next project ‘Prisoners‘ should start production in early 2013 but we already know its release date: September 20, 2013. Paul Dano joins Jake Gyllenhaal, Hugh Jackman and Melissa Leo in the cast and seems to have turned down an offer for a role in the forthcoming film “Jersey Boys” to embrace this project

Dano is playing a neighbor of Jackman’s. He is said to have the mental competence of a 10-year-old, and is thought to be a good person, but may actually be a murderer.

Oh, by the way…it’s time to pack, folks. New York, here I come!

  1. This is so good – we get to experience all the great reaction to End of Watch as it grabs audiences in the UK! Sounds to me like it might have a chance of getting more attention there than the usual cliched buddy/cop movie. And I’m loving the Q&A with Michael Pena – particularly when he compliments Jake.

Enjoy NYC, GC, and enjoy the play. We want to see photos and read a detailed report from you. Oh, and tell Jake I said “hi!”

  2. Gyllen! So this weekend it’s time for you to meet Jake and see the play. I’m looking forward to read about it. Have fun, enjoy the play and good luck with meeting Jake! I may imagine how happy you are!
I’m so glad too, that EoW gets such good reception and reviews. And all these complements Michael and Jake say about each-others are so nice and charming.
Extension of the play, I bet, is based on Jake’s fame, attraction and performance. People see it multiply times, probably interest is bigger than they suspected, which is fantastic after not so good first reviews. I’m so happy for such a successful American Jake’s debut!

  3. so how was your meeting with Jake? And no I don’t agree about the beard, There is a gorgeous face (if you look to the right the pic of Jack Twist) underneath all that facial fuzz. I am hoping once he’s done with the play it will be OFF.

glad you got to meet him. maybe I will one day.
